About my credit report?

How can I find out who I owe money to and how to pay them back?

How soon after I pay off my debt til my credit score improves?

About my credit report?

How do you not know who you owe? At any rate, write to the Big Three credit agencies, Equifax, Experian and Transunion. (you can also get a report online) - Check over hte entries - look for the balances and the reporting date. Contact the owied company for an update on your account. Pay, or not - then call the company again after you have paid and ask them to report your information to the credit bureau. They will probably do it anyway. Check back in 2 months with the credit bureaus. Dispute any discrepancies with the Credit Bureau - they can then contact the companies and verify your account as paid, late etc...It is a slow process and will take at a minimum of 6 months.

marks on your credit score stay there for at least 5 years whether you pay them back or not...if you are in default or late it will continue to show...you can try contacting the company you owe to see if you pay them off if they will remove the derogatory info for you...good luck

About my credit report?

should improve right away unless you have late payments that falls off in about 5 years, Write a letter each time you make a payoff and that assures they get it. 60 % of the time your credit report wont show that you paid it off.

About my credit report?

Look at you credit reports.

There should be a phone number list with each debtor, (usually toll free) call them they will gladly tell you how to make payment.

About my credit report?

JUST go down to your local credit bureau anyone of the big three like equifax, trw etc. and get a free print out and a counselorto talk with. you can get one of those free scores but that is so lame. you need the printed details to study beore you decide what action you should take. ify our dont have an mba and understanding of what you are looking out, go to a professional in the yellow pages. there are free services to start with. don%26#039;t trust nobody until you hae worke with them awhile. it is a minefield. everything is a minefield these days.

About my credit report?

You should be able to get a free credit report every 12 months.

It will let you know what collection agencies you owe. But most likely, you need to find thier number yourself.

Even after you pay, it can stay on your report for up to 7 years.

Make sure you dispute things that you don%26#039;t think are yours. And they will come off after everything is verified.

Dispute the ones that are valid too. You never know when they might believe you and take those off as well.

About my credit report?

There is a couple of ways to start this process, one cost and one doesn%26#039;t. What you need is a current credit report. You can go to various credit report companies on the internet and request one which they will send to you for a fee (or free). I personally used EquiFax%26#039;s %26#039;Get a Free Credit Report%26#039; option (see website below). The trick on these websites is not to get %26#039;sucked into%26#039; their sells pitch about protecting or %26#039;fixing%26#039; your credit report. Just get the report, print it and review it at your leisure.

You can also get one for free if you%26#039;ve recently applied for credit was denied. In the denial letter there is instructions how you can go about requesting the credit report that was used to determine your credit worthiness. The credit reporting companies HAVE TO provide this report to you FREE of charge if you were denied credit based on a report they created. Follow their instructions and get your report.

Now... What to do from there. First establish all the debt that appears on your report. If there are any accounts you do not recognize you need to start tracing them down (ID theft possibility). The report will show you the balance as well as the number of times late (30, 60, 90 day). Organize this debt and start making payments. If you have been late on payments then depending upon the severity of the lateness will govern the lenght of time you must make consistant payments before the credit score improves. I would be willing to be you won%26#039;t see an improvement for at least 6 months at the minimum and if you had multiple 90day lates recently then it will probably take even longer.

Hope this helps and good luck!

To be honest there is no time frame on that. Your credit report can change hour to hour, day to day, and so on. Just remember there are statue of limitations on items being reported on your credit report. Negative items will be on your credit report for 7 yrs, and positive items will stay on for 10 yrs.
