How do you get a credit report if you don't qualify for a credit card?

My friend has been getting calls from a car insurance company saying her ins. is about to expire. She don%26#039;t have a car or insurance! She%26#039;s started getting letters from credit card companies for cards, when she%26#039;s always been rejected before. She%26#039;s never had a credit card and doesn%26#039;t qualify for one. She%26#039;s on disability and can%26#039;t work. Nothing has changed in years. Think her identy has been stolen? What steps should she take to check things out?

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

Go to annualcreditreport.com - that%26#039;s the government site for free reports. She can actually print out all three tonight if she wants. She can only get one free per year from each agency. Freecreditreport.com makes you pay for a monthly service if you want the free reports (go figure).

Fraud FAQ%26#039;s.

http://www.experian.com/consumer/fraud_f...

She should also be able to get free credit reports from all three credit reporting agencies if fraud is expected, but she needs to contact them all if fraud is expected to place a fraud alert. This will prevent anyone from signing up for credit in her name.

www.transunion.com

Good luck.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

freecreditreport.com will give you a free report once a year no matter what. I think there is another one called truecredit.com that will give you all 3 reports for free.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

freecreditreport.com

Everyone has credit, even if they haven%26#039;t had an account.

Below post state that you will be charged at freecreditreport.

You will be charged, but only if you don%26#039;t cancel within the first 15 days or so. You are automatically enrolled in %26quot;triple advantage%26quot; to get the %26quot;free%26quot; report, you just need to cancel triple advantage right after you get the report.

It is free, as long as you aren%26#039;t a moron about it.

**It seems that people still have a hard time with this. Go to freecreditreport, and CANCEL your enrollment in triple advantage within the first MONTH. It is free if you do this. Geez**

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

These are scams...if she does not have the things they are calling about then she just needs to hang up on these people. Tell her NEVER to give out her personal information. They are trying to commit identity theft!

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

don%26#039;t go to freecreditreport.com, that%26#039;s a scam site run by Experian (a credit reporting agency!!!) lol.. go to experian.com and ask for a LEGIT TRULY FREE credit report there... if someone checks your credit and u get denied then you have 30 days or something to get a free one each time... good luck!

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

Go to experian.com and get a free report. They will ask name, address, social security #, etc so she can see if somenone else is using her info

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

Don%26#039;t go to freecreditreport.com like that other person said, they charge you, it is not free. However, she can go to annualcreditreport.com and get a free copy of her credit report from all three credit bureaus. She definitely needs to look into this to see whats going on. Could be a mistake or it could be identity theft.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

there is a free credit report from the us gov website that she can get, she is permitted one a year. You%26#039;ll have to poke around online to find it, it%26#039;s in the US gov site. query free credit report, totally free by government or something.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

A Credit Card Report is another way that the Federal Government can control your life and your real lifestyle; not just your %26quot;political lifestyle%26quot; . . . Thus, it IS another step toward Socialism . . . Do we need a Revolution or what??

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

freecreditreport.com is not FREE.

You need to go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com and are allowed one free per year from each of the big 3(TransUnion, Experian, Equifax). This is the offical government required site and the only one that she can get the free one from.

Since she has no history they may require her to have it sent by mail rather than viewing it on-line. However, the site will let her know if it can or can%26#039;t be done on line.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

You don%26#039;t have to have a credit card or even any debts to have a credit file. If you subscribe to a magazine that publisher may report you as a good payer to a credit reporting agency and a credit file is then created in your name. That%26#039;s why credit card companies sometimes solicit cats and dogs when their owners subscribe to magazines in their pet%26#039;s name as a joke.

However the insurance issue is very suspicious. She should get a copy of her credit file to see exactly what is on it.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

She needs to contact the credit bureaus there are 3 of them....then she needs to let them know her identity has been stolen. Once she does that they will send her, her credit report. She can look through it and decide what actually belongs to her and what does not. She can dispute any charges that appear on her credit report that are not hers!!! It might take a while......

She also needs to talk to the car insurance company. Don%26#039;t bother with the customer service people...they are there only to take care of the mass majority of people.... not people with special cases like your friend. Tell her ask for the supervior%26#039;s supervisor.......or someone who can actually help her an not pass her off. I always use the line %26quot;your not telling me what I want to hear, so pass me to the next person who can help me%26quot; That always gets their attention. Hopefully they will take care it properly.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

No, no, no! Its NOT Freecreditreport.com. Don%26#039;t use that site! It belongs to Experian, and consumers are commonly tricked into signing up for a credit monitoring service for $12 a month which is totally unnecessary, and NOT required to get your free credit report. But they make it seem like you are getting a %26#039;free%26#039; service, and don%26#039;t explain it well. You would have to visit that site to see what I mean. And if you go to that site, the fact that you are signing up for the $12 a month service is NOT clearly indicated. You have to look very close for the details on it. You actually have to look pretty hard to find the link for the actual, no strings attached free credit report. It is there, but you really have to search pretty hard to find it. Its rather sleazy if you ask me, and a LOT of people are tricked into unknowingly buying this service. Its %26#039;free%26#039; for the first 30 days, and then your credit card is charged every month after that. Just do a google search of something like %26quot;freecreditreport.com rip off%26quot; and tons of pages come up!

You are entitled to one free credit report each year. And the ONLY place to do that officially is www.annualcreditreport.com. This site has been setup by the three major credit reporting companies - Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. It is the ONE, AND ONLY site which is authorized by all three of the companies to deliver free annual credit reports to consumers. You can get all three reports totally free using this one site - no strings attached!Follow this link to the FTC%26#039;s web site regarding this issue, and for more information:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/cred...

Hope this helps.

BTW, in my opinion, her identity was not stolen. I say that because if she cannot get credit cards because she was always turned down, then what good is her identity to thieves? If she had a good, solid credit history, then it would be a different story. But I really doubt that it was stolen. Just my opinion...

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

did you know that by law you are able to get a free credit report once a year to see where you stand...you dont have to apply for credit cards to get a copy of your report..i wasnt aware of this until a few years ago. this site is free to use and is very helpful in understanding whats on your report and then you can contact the creditors and settle with them...good luck.

How do you get a credit report if you don%26#039;t qualify for a credit card?

%26quot; In the United States, a person is entitled to a free credit report once every 12 months, this administered by the three nationwide consumer free credit report companies:

Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. The three companies will provide this free credit report jointly, the subject is walked through the process of getting their Free credit report when applying, which is via the internet. Company put false information on my credit report!?

My old apartments has turned over FALSE late charges to a collection agency and in turn they have put it on my credit. I moved out June 1st, they say I moved out June 8th, the woman from the collection agency called me on June 20th (under 30 days). I did not receive anything in writing just annoying phone calls. She stated the apt should have sent an invoice. They did not. I called the apts and the woman said they did not have address for me, however the collection agent said they have an address (which is correct) that they got from the apt. I was reading where u can contact each credit bureau and tell them about fraudulent charges, but looking more into it...the credit bureaus are talking about identity theft. I still think my situation would fall under fraudulent because the charges are incorrect and the woman @ the collection agency told me that it doesn%26#039;t matter if I dispute, they are only going to send it to them and they still mark it as unpaid and it stays on my credit. help

Company put false information on my credit report!?

dispute it

Company put false information on my credit report!?

All inaccurate information on your credit report should be reported to the credit bureaus. Check the website below on how to do it.

Company put false information on my credit report!?

When you moved out of the apartment did you actually turn in your keys? Alot of times people fail to turn in keys and they (the offoce) don%26#039;t know if it is actually vacant until someone checks it. Tenants assume the office knew the apartment was vacant because they were on notice to move out, but no one is psychic This may have been the case for you. You would be charged for those days if you did not turn in the keys. As far as getting an invoice, most apartment communites will send it to the address you lived at and count on you to forward your mail so that you get your bill. If you did not forward your address, then it would have returned to the apartment office. That may be why you did not get a bill. I would contact the apartment complex first and get all the details and your final statement from them. If the information is incorrect, they will be responsible for contacting the CA and getting it removed.

Company put false information on my credit report!?

apartments are full of losers that power trip because they have positions of authority. maintenance men are a dirty cops best friend, they have the keys and can make copies. got evicted once when maintenance b***** falsely complained about noise and other bogus complaints, him and his trash friends. got hit for 2800 on report when in fact him and his stalker buddies were harassing and stalking my family. the little punks think they are secret service agents. they use to steal the water bill so i would get late fees. they are losers and liars. contest it. they should pass laws which prohibit bogus complaints by liars like them. wish i could have called the feds to deport half of the employees there, but we know they are too busy with steroids or dog fighting.complain in writing to apartment association in your town. if that doesn%26#039;t work, try the media it%26#039;s commonplace b.s.

Is there anyway to get your credit report without having to have a credit card?

I can go through ,y bank to get it, but I would like to just use the internet

however I don%26#039;t have a credit card and most of the sites require it even freecreditreport.com

Is there anyway to get your credit report without having to have a credit card?

if you dont have a credit card .. what makes you think you have credit to begin with? am i missing something here?

Is there anyway to get your credit report without having to have a credit card?

The site you want to visit is:

http://www.annualcreditreport.com

That site will give you your credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) once per 12-month period. You don%26#039;t need to pay for anything (or enter debit/credit card information) unless you want to also see your credit score. The credit score is proprietary information each of the credit bureaus determines based on the information in their database, and the algorithms they use to determine the score.

Is there anyway to get your credit report without having to have a credit card?

You can request an annual free credit report from all three major reporting companies. You do not need a credit card but you do not get the fico score without a small fee. fyi - you don%26#039;t need a credit card to have a credit rating.

Is there anyway to get your credit report without having to have a credit card?

Or you could call them toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 credit agencies.

Is there anyway to get your credit report without having to have a credit card?

Hi, you do not have to pay for your credit report. If you are asked to on a free site then don%26#039;t..... Everyone is allowed one free report once a year. There are three reporting agencies and you can get one free from each one, my advice is to get one from one agency and then a few months get the other one and then a few months get the third one. This way you can see if there is any differences in reporting and keep on top of any problems. Just go to experian.com or transunion.com and equifax.com

Good Luck

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

My nephew has a judgement against him for credit car debt. He is paying a monthly installment on it and will have it paid off in less than three years. He asked me how long it would stay on his record? I honestly do not know if it works like other credit debt and falls off? Any info would be appreciated

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

Judgments normally show for 7 years or until the statute of limitations runs out whichever is longer.

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

No, judgements do not work like the rest. The laws vary from state to state....in South Dakota a judgement is good for 20 years!

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

as long as he%26#039;s making those payments it shows up on his report that he has a judgement an that he%26#039;s on a payment plan but when the debt is payed it should fall off but if he stops paying it would stay on his credit for 7 to 10 years

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

Here is the facts about your credit history.....it all stays.

your credit score is generally calculated based upon the most recent 7 year history.

your creditworthiness is in the Eye of the Business thinking about giving you credit. In some circles, you may have a great credit score but they will use any means (your history) to charge you a higher rate. so they may look further back.

Dont look at your credit history as a collection of single events. look at the entire package , thats what creditors do.

you need to create habits and a credit pattern that shows you know how to handle money.

1. they say a debt/equity ratio of %26lt;.39 is good... guess what, you need to have one about .25

2. regardless of the D/E ratio. you need a budget that is based on what you take home......not what you can afford to make in minimum monthly payments.

3. Most of what you buy is Crap.....stop it. and stop listening to your friends and the TV about what it is you need.

4. your credit troubles are the result of marketing and peer pressure to have a life that is unsustainable for most people. Stop being Cool and start thinking about your future.

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

You need to actively work to ensure marks against your credit come off when they are supposed to regardless of what it is.

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

The judgement will stay on for 7 years. It wont matter if he pays the debt off sooner. It will still show up as a bad mark for his credit. even though its paid.

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

I%26#039;ve seen some pretty old judgements on credit reports. They hang around for a long time, and IRS or state tax liens will never go away unless they%26#039;re paid...and even then you may have to fuss a bit to get them marked paid.

Does a judgement fall off your credit report after seven years?

Judgments, like most public records items, can stay on your credit report for 10 years, even if it is paid in full.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (& not use them)?

My son has a few credit cards that he doesn%26#039;t use and wants to close them out. I was told that closing them will affect your credit rating (in a negetive way). True or false?

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

Wow some people here give horrible advice. I gave a thumbs up to like, one person here.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

It%26#039;s better to have available credit lines with balances under 30% of the limits. Make sure they are paid monthly and notice your scores increase. I%26#039;m in finance and do this for a living.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

Yes, he just keep them open, unless the apr is really high

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

Closing a credit line will adversely affect your score.

I had several cards and had not used some in a long time ( zero balance ) because other cards offered better rebates. So I closed out 2 bank cards as well as a SEARs and KOHLs card.

Boy was I surprised when my score went down!!

The rationale behind this is that the credit guys think that you%26#039;re closing cards because you cannot handle the debt load - kinda stupid, but that%26#039;s the way the logic goes.

So, do not close the cards. Just leave them dormant and locked up and unused.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

Not only is it better for him to keep the accounts open, it%26#039;s better if he carries a small balance on them, even if it%26#039;s just $10.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

Closing them WILL negatively affect his credit rating.

Write down the card numbers AND the telephone number on the back of each one. Every 3 months, with the balance at or near zero, call the number and ask for an increase in the credit limit. Ask for 3 times what your current limit is. You will get 2 times your current limit normally. If they elect not to raise your limit ask for a manager. If they still dont, it is most likely because you havent used the card lately. Make a purchase with the card, and make one payment, but dont pay it off completely (pay at least the minimum payment though), then pay it off next month. Then make the call again.

You want to do this every 3 months. Your credit rating goes by payment history AND AVAILABLE CREDIT. If you have 2 $10,000 cards, you have $20,000 in available credit (if their balances are zero), but if you close them, you now have NO available credit, and your score could plummet.

Dont cancel the cards---but dont use them either unless you can pay them off very quickly. If you keep making the calls you will eventually have some very high balance cards. Thats a good thing for emergencies.

Good luck

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

It is better to close the accounts. Having open accounts that you dont use lowers your credit score. If you have a WaMu credit card, it shows you your credit rating every month online. It also gives you tips to raise your credit rating.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

Well while I will admit that closing some cards may have a sligh effect on your sons credit rating, working in a bank has shown me that have increased exposure to credit may effect his ability to borrow in the fututre.

The bank will not only look at his credit score but how much available credit he has available to him. It doesn%26#039;t matter that he does not use them, the point is if the @#$$ hits the fan he could.

Therfore I would recommend closing all but one and making sure your son pays it off quickly and efficiently. Also with only one card; tempation will only be able to get him in so much trouble. Take it from someone who deals with people who have many cards, it%26#039;s a bad idea.

You guys are all dunces, its the exposure to credit thats the problem and right now he has good credit but give him time, that many cards is a bad idea, it%26#039;s easy to let you credit score go down.

So when you all who have so many cards go to your banks and have decent credit and get turned away, now you know why exposure to credit.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

It%26#039;s all a matter of numbers. They look at the income, and the %26quot;available%26quot; balances. If he has 10 cards with 5k each and only makes 30k per year, he needs to close some. If he has 3 with 5k each he could leave them open, but should consider the fee%26#039;s for each into the equation.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

close the card. if the cards were used and revolving credit established when closed it will be positive. shows credit worthiness

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

false -- if he has never had a bad mark on any of these credit cards it should not effect his credit score a bit.

Is it better for your credit report to close credit cards or leave open (%26amp; not use them)?

It depends, it hurts you more if you have too much credit out there and the ratio of balance to credit line is too high, if you have more than one with the same company you might want to look at consolidating them, and closing one. It isn%26#039;t the number of cards you have but that ratio that hurts your score, try to keep them under 20% of the credit limit and if you do close the account make sure the company closes it per customer request and ask for a letter for your records verifying that it was closed at your request.

How do i fix my credit report?

I had an apt. in Laredo and when we moved my so-called friend said she would take over payments since we just signed a year lease but when we moved i never heard from her, and now it is on my credit. luckily we got and apt. before it was on my credit but i dont plan on living here for the rest of my life. Is there anything i can do to fix this, or if i pay the 2000 dollars i owe will that even do anything tell help my credit out. any kind of input would be greatly appreciated.

How do i fix my credit report?

If you do decide to pay the amount owed try to negotiate with the creditor to have the item removed from you account. This would be better than having the item simply shown as paid. GOOD LUCK

How do i fix my credit report?

Pay off the outstanding debt and pay all of your existing bills early, not on time. Also, if you have a credit card balance try to pay it down as maxed cards count against you.

How do i fix my credit report?

Your credit will improve if you pay all your back debts and pay all your bills on or before they are due.

How do i fix my credit report?

Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and dispute it. If the dispute does not work, ask them to send you proof by %26quot;validating the debt.%26quot; If they do not validate or respond, by law, they are supposed to remove it.

How do i fix my credit report?

What alot of people don%26#039;t know is that you can actually settle the debt with whomever you owe. Meaning call them and tell them the situation and tell them you want to settle the debt. Sometimes they drop the debt by as much as 40%. My sister owed 1200 on a credit card she called and settled and they charged her $400 to resolve the debt. Try It!

My bank is offering a free credit report, but I have heard that checking your credit can actually be

I%26#039;m not worried about hidden fees or any of that sht, I%26#039;m very careful. Just wondering if it will have an adverse effect on my credit.

My bank is offering a free credit report, but I have heard that checking your credit can actually be bad 4 it.

Too many inquiries into your credit drive your credit score down. The reason? The credit models do not take into account the %26quot;shopping for a good rate%26quot;, it sees it as being unable to obtain financing. Checking your credit report is a good thing to do once a year (some say twice) to be sure you have not been an identity fraud victim. Just keep track of when and who you authorized to pull your credit report.

My bank is offering a free credit report, but I have heard that checking your credit can actually be bad 4 it.

Just dont have it checked too often. One free report is not a bad thing. It is really helpful to know your score too.

My bank is offering a free credit report, but I have heard that checking your credit can actually be bad 4 it.

Turbo Baby is half right. If someone else pulls your credit report it hurts your score, however if you pull it for review it does not count against your score at all.

My bank is offering a free credit report, but I have heard that checking your credit can actually be bad 4 it.

Pulling your own credit report makes no difference to your score. But also, in exact opposite to what Turbobaby has said, the scores actually DO recognize rate shopping, and will disregard repeated inquiries in a short time.

That really has no bearing here, though, all that matters is that checking your own report doesn%26#039;t hurt you.

My bank is offering a free credit report, but I have heard that checking your credit can actually be bad 4 it.

I would like to recommend you possess as much information as you can before taking action, here is a good place for that purpose.http://creditreport.expertsupport.info/f...

There should be a customer service number on the website that you can call and find out how to log back into your account. I am not sure if you paid for a one time report or if this is a monthly charge that allows you to track your credit score each month.

I went to annual credit report.com and I got my credit score from Experian.?

http://www.mintcreditrepair.com that site is the only legit site I know that gives you a real report for free, its at the top, the link is in green, I used this site, and it helped out, take a few minutes. Not bad.

I went to annual credit report.com and I got my credit score from Experian.?

In California (maybe other places too) you get one free credit report per year. You will pay extra for your score.

I went to annual credit report.com and I got my credit score from Experian.?

www.annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY site that is sanctioned by the US government to provide you with a credit report once a year for free.

I went to annual credit report.com and I got my credit score from Experian.?

Yes, the $5.95 for your credit score was a one-time thing. You can get one free credit report per year though from each of the three major credit agencies through annualcreditreport.com - but not your score.

I went to annual credit report.com and I got my credit score from Experian.?

Your Credit Report and score are viewable for 90 days from the date of the report. However, you have to log back into the Experian site to do this.

You will need the Report Number to be able to do this. Since you ordered it if you gave them an e-mail address they should have sent you a receipt to your e-mail with the report number. If you do not have the Report Number you will not be able to get back into review it.

Credit entry 7 years old, but is now showing on credit report?

I have a negative entry which is 7 years old (2000). The creditor decided after 7 years to report this account. If I were not to pay this account, would I now have to wait another 7 years for this to come off, or does the last date of activity actually determine the length?

Credit entry 7 years old, but is now showing on credit report?

If you still owe them money, then its still an active account and the last activity date is today. You can dispute it, or give them a call and offer to settle the account for less than the full amount. Just keep in mind, you will have an easier time getting an old PAID account off of your credit report than you will a currently due account. Once it is paid, the lender won%26#039;t care what happens with the account and is less likely to fight to keep it on your account.

Credit entry 7 years old, but is now showing on credit report?

If they didn%26#039;t give you any notice within the last month by either mail or phone call you can dispute it .

Credit entry 7 years old, but is now showing on credit report?

It is from the date of last activity or the date it was written off. We can help you dispute this and any other issues you have on your credit. Check out our website at www.jcwilliamscreditservice.com

Credit entry 7 years old, but is now showing on credit report?

thats a common problem; they do this often until you request the info be corrected/removed.

it explains it here, as well as has a sample letter for you to use (in either txt form or pdf).

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

I am going through a debt couseling service to consolidate my high interest credit cards, will this hurt my credit score?? Through this agency I can only have 1 open credit account -- which is fine, I am SICK of credit debt, but what about buying a vehicle?? WOuld I be able to get financing??

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

I run a real estate title agency. The Mortgage Broker%26#039;s I%26#039;ve spoken to have one answer to that. Dont%26#039; do it. Even tho you eliminate debt and multiple credit accounts which should improve your credit, the mere fact that you have a debt service on your credit means most people wont%26#039; touch you with a ten foot pole. You are better off filing bankruptcy. Even with a bankruptcy on credit you can still get credit. Just at a high interest rate. With Debt Consolidation. You may not be able to get credit at all.

I think the reasoning is that these debt services essentially eliminate any profit these creditor%26#039;s can make off of you. So there is no reason for them to give you credit again.

And when I asked about this the dont%26#039;t do it answer was a strong one. Not just offhand advice.

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

If it hurts it slightly in the beginning that%26#039;s okay. The long term benefits far outweigh the other options like bancrupcy. It will very difficult to get financing once you start the program, but once the creditors see you paying consistently for several months to a year or more, they will be much more eager to finance you again. Again, with the other alternatives which are %26quot;do nothing%26quot; or %26quot;bancrupcy%26quot;, the result can be much , much worse.

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

in the long run it will definitely help your credit. for one, it will show that you have few and low installment accounts. but i think it will hurt your score a little in the short run since you will be closing accounts due to consolidation. this means the accounts that you have the longest credit history with will be closing. good luck!

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

Affect your credit rate . Yes .Negativly.

visit daveramsey.com to learn what the bankers credit(slave)cards pray you never ever learn and apply.

watch the drive free get rich video.

we drive 20k$ cars without car note/loans. next year we will be in 25k$ cars without loans.

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

They will trash your credit. It%26#039;s like filing bankruptcy. Why? It says that YOU couldn%26#039;t pay your bills and manage your money. Therefore, somebody else had to do it.

Will a debt counseling affect my credit report?

Yes. As a loan officer, I can tell you that most lenders look at debt consolidation as being as bad as bankruptcy.

Personal info errors on credit report?

The following is not correct on my Experian report:

1. A motel where I stayed once is listed as a former address of mine and as a single family home. I do not think that it was ever my legal address. I know that it was not a single family home.

2. In the list of names and name identification numbers, they have listed the same name with no middle initial or middle name, with a middle initial, with a full middle name, and again with no middle initial or middle name. Each of these has a separate name identification number. There are four unique numbers, but only three unique names (and only one unique first and last name).

A. Is any of this important enough to bother disputing?

B. Do creditors care about the number of names and/or the number of addresses on my report?

Personal info errors on credit report?

As a Banker, yes you should clear this up to reflect your present address and legal names. It only gives a creditor a reason to deny a loan if there are disputed facts on the report.

How can i check my credit report when i don't have enough info to verify my identity?

this is something i have been slowly pulling my hair out for a couple of months over now. apparenlty there is the possiblity there is a loan out for a morgage 2003 in my name. i just turned 23. i can verify for the last three residents i lived in, my drivers license, banking info, birth certificate and social security. all of this was done over the phone and via fax machine which scares the hell out of me personally. i have checked with all three crediters to no avail. i can not get my report!!! ilive in georgia and i can damn well get one free report a year as legislation grants me from these dipwads

so if anyone has some advice, i am all ears, becuz at this point i dont know what to do. i cant file a police report or anything till i have this information, and then well... i can%26#039;t do anything.... so HeLp!!!

How can i check my credit report when i don%26#039;t have enough info to verify my identity?

Here is an article that deals with a couple of different methods of getting the free credit report.

http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/credit-...

If these don%26#039;t work for you then there is something to your story that you are not sharing. I can get mine within a couple of minutes with the same types of information that you have.

How can i check my credit report when i don%26#039;t have enough info to verify my identity?

If you think that there%26#039;s something fishy going on, then you need to first protect the identity you got left... go enroll in LifeLock or LoudSiren... google them, they are great services that help you protect your identity. They will send you free credit reports so that%26#039;s a way to get them... the services range anywhere from $8-$10/month, so it%26#039;s affordable for everyone. You can also call the credit Bureaus directly and see if they can help you.

How can i check my credit report when i don%26#039;t have enough info to verify my identity?

fill out the form in a PDF file below and send it in. They will mail you a copy of your report and it will include ways to dispute incorrect information.

How can i check my credit report when i don%26#039;t have enough info to verify my identity?

This makes no sense. If you know your social securty number and your name and your address you should be able to get a free credit report from each of the three major credit reporting agencies. You can mail in one form or go to one web site and apply.

The FTC has a lot of information on their web site about dealing with identity theft, which may be what is going on here.

How can i check my credit report when i don%26#039;t have enough info to verify my identity?

Hi

I saw your question I have decided to help people out due to the fact that I myself has been scammed twice by fake lenders in my search for a loan but at last I got a reliable lender that gave me the loan($60,000 USD) that I was in dire need of even with a bad credit. Hence I decided that I will refer anybody I come across to this God sent lender he is reliable and his terms are fair. You can get to him via his email address charles_lenders@yahoo.com Please tell him that Deborah Kirk he gave out a loan to me . I have search for a legit lender until I got him and I decided to help my fellow humans with this because there are a lot of fake lenders out there and I do not want any body to fall a prey please get to him and tell him that I referred you to him.

Thanks.

Deborah Kirk

Where can I get a free credit report/score no credit card needed.?

I dont have a credit card but I have good credit from buying my car and other things. I also have bad credit from hospital bills and stuff.

Where can I get a free credit report/score no credit card needed.?

If you%26#039;re in the US, you%26#039;re entitled to a free credit report from each of the 3 main agencies each year. You can obtain them through https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i... .

Where can I get a free credit report/score no credit card needed.?

AnnualCreditReport.com is the site set up to get your annual free credit reports from each of the three credit bureaus. The reports are free but you will have to pay for the scores.

There are other sites like FreeCreditReport.com which will require you to sign up for their monitoring services, that will give you a report and your score. But you will need a credit card and have to cancel within the 30-day trial period. They do not make it easy to cancel either.

Your credti score probably isn%26#039;t very good based on the %26quot;hospital bills and other stuff%26quot;. Get a copy of your report and work on settling the bad stuff first.

Where can I get a free credit report/score no credit card needed.?

FreeCreditReport.com. They also offer monitoring services (for a fee). Also if you have applied for credit in the past 90 days you can get a free copy of your credit report.

Where can I get a free credit report/score no credit card needed.?

Try www.annualcreditreport.com This is free and you can do it once a year.

Does anyone else find the "free credit report.com" commercial offensive?

I think people should be more than a credit score. The guy in the commercial said he %26quot;married his dream girl%26quot; but after she had bad credit he could be a %26quot;happy bachelor with a dog and a yard%26quot;..as a %26quot;credit challenged consumer%26quot; I find the commercial very offensive. Does anyone else? I want to start and alternative credit system and call it %26quot;crudco%26quot; it would be if people pay their rent and house payments. That is what is important. what do you think?

Does anyone else find the %26quot;free credit report.com%26quot; commercial offensive?

I find it very offensive to even imply that the type of person you are is governed by your credit score.

And besides that they are not really free.

I simply can not believe the things that some people say. Your credit is just that, yours. If you get married and your spouse has bad credit it has no effect on your credit what so ever unless you take out joint loans and even then the only effect depends on how those loans are paid.

Does anyone else find the %26quot;free credit report.com%26quot; commercial offensive?

Yeah this sounds offensive

Does anyone else find the %26quot;free credit report.com%26quot; commercial offensive?

They have pretty dumb commercials - especially the one with the couple who claims to be unworried because they check their credit every day.

Also, the %26quot;free%26quot; in their name is very misleading.

Does anyone else find the %26quot;free credit report.com%26quot; commercial offensive?

No, I don%26#039;t find it offensive because I%26#039;ve been here! Once you get married, your spouses credit rating becomes yours and if your significant other has misused their credit, your going to pay for it!

You can get a free credit report from here, but cancel the service if you don%26#039;t want monitoring.

I found that Annual Credit Report, a FREE site is not that accurate! Anyone who relies on this service to watch their credit as their only source of monitoring is more likely to become a victim of fraud because their not monitoring their credit enough.

I find it offensive somewhat that your credit score can tell others what type of person you are, but those who are careless about their credit will also be careless about other aspects of their lives and your credit score DOES show how YOU honor your obligations!!!!

Stephanie O, YOU do not know what you are talking about!! In a community proprtry state, you will also mmarry your spouses credit rating!! I didn%26#039;t think this was possible, but it happened to me! It wont happen right away, but it will happen!

If you get divorced, you better make sure you report the divoce decree to ALL 3 credit reporting agencies because it you don%26#039;t, your spouse can apply for credit and both of your names will be used to establish it and once this starts, it%26#039;s a hard mess to clean up! I needed a lawyer to put a stop to it!

If this wasn%26#039;t true, you wouldn%26#039;t be able to add someone to your accounts as an authorised signer and boost there score!! This tactic is used to improve creditr scores, but will not be available for much longer.

When you marry, the last name of your spouses changes and becomes part of YOUR identity! Also, a marriage becomes a legal joint tenancy with rights of survivorship and if you think the creditors will NOT come after you trying to collect those debtrs, think again! Sorry Spifiman, but I learned a lot more about this than I wanted to!

All that I had to do was to makes Ms.A ,Mrs. Duane B!

Does anyone else find the %26quot;free credit report.com%26quot; commercial offensive?

Duane doe%26#039;s not know what he%26#039;s talking about. Your credit is your and yours alone.

Spifiman is correct on this as usual.

Does anyone else find the %26quot;free credit report.com%26quot; commercial offensive?

A big ten negative! A person is a person based on their whole! Pamela Anderson with a bad credit score is no good! Everyone wants to find the perfect girl/guy and financial responsibility is a part of that. If finances and personal depth are not an issue, your %26quot;perfect girl%26quot; is a super model. But this commercial is speaking to the market... The market being middle class Americans. We are talking about a class issue, not a sexist issue. This of course is marketing ! Don%26#039;t be such a cry baby, I take it you are a liberal too? Sniff Sniff sniff........ If it was a female singing the song you would would be fine with it...... Because in your eyes we are only if equal if equality raises your STATUS. (which is a cray baby)

Paying for an item on my credit report 6 months from being taken off report?

I know if I paid it now, it would show as recent activity and stay on another 7 years right?

What about if I let it fall off, then pay it. Can they come back and put it back on my report again?

Paying for an item on my credit report 6 months from being taken off report?

If you pay the account off now it will show as a recent charge off. However, this should not re-age the account. Witch means it will still fall off your report in 6 months.

If you pay the account off after 6 months it should not reappear on your credit file.

My advice to you is not to pay them anything. But, if you do I can definitely respect that also.

Paying for an item on my credit report 6 months from being taken off report?

I think you you should not pay and let it fall off your credit report after 6 months. There is always a possibility that this collection may be resold to another collection agency. Just wait and see.

When running your credit report, do car dealers count JOINT expenses as HALF your debt?

My credit union isn%26#039;t being very helpful. I want to buy a car. But they are counting my mortgage (which I split with my wife) as ALL MY DEBT. Do car dealers (such as Toyota, Honda, etc) make allowances for this, knowing that the debt is not entirely mine... and therefore count only HALF of it as my debt? Thank you...

When running your credit report, do car dealers count JOINT expenses as HALF your debt?

They will NOT divide your debt. They need to figure your income based on the possibility the other person on the loan(s) defaults, which will make you liable for the bill. Your credit report will state your monthly obligations, which includes all joint debts. I hope this helps.

I need a Credit Expert answer! Can someone pulling your credit report tell if you have ever had a ba

I had one 12 years ago and it dosen%26#039;t showup on the report. Is there any secret code or something that will tell them from the report even if it isn%26#039;t listed?

I need a Credit Expert answer! Can someone pulling your credit report tell if you have ever had a bankruptsy.

It is usually on your credit for seven years...however....sometimes it is not...I use to work in that field...read on...

I need a Credit Expert answer! Can someone pulling your credit report tell if you have ever had a bankruptsy.

It can appear in the public records section of your report for seven years, they can also see it if there were trade-lines (accounts) paid via the bankruptcy - it will say it as a note below the account. If it was 12 years ago that may be the only way it shows up. Pull you own credit (all three bureau%26#039;s!) and carefully review the report. If you don%26#039;t see anything then most likely the creditors wont either.

I need a Credit Expert answer! Can someone pulling your credit report tell if you have ever had a bankruptsy.

Bankruptcies stay on your credit for 10 years in public records. There should be no trace of the bankruptcy left after 12 years.

I need a Credit Expert answer! Can someone pulling your credit report tell if you have ever had a bankruptsy.

Most bankruptcies will dissappear of your credit report in a matter of 7 years. After that there is no was of telling on a recently pulled credit report by a lender. However, the preceedings of which you filed the original bankruptcy will remain on a legal docket with the state in which you filed and is considered to be public information. Hope that helps.

How to get credit report comments removed?

Ok, I was having trouble with MC for YEARS! I finally paid them off in a settlement both sides agreed on about a month ago. I was told by a VISA rep of all people to ask them to remove their personal and derogatory comments made about me with the credit bureau.

I%26#039;ve called them to this effect and keep being told someone will return my call. I also have not received any paper work confirming that the account is settled.

What should I do?

How to get credit report comments removed?

you can challenge it at the credit bureau and the company that put the comments in has thirty days to respond if they do not they will remove the comments.

How to get credit report comments removed?

Have you seen the comments? What did they say?

Without knowing this information there is no way to answer your question.

How to get credit report comments removed?

MasterCard is not known for putting %26#039;personal and derogatory comments%26#039; in a person%26#039;s credit file, nor are the credit reporting agencies known for ACCEPTING such comments of a personal nature.

Before you go off half-******, you should get a copy of your credit file and observe just what is in the file.

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

i am fixing my credit i started with a 200 credit score

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

Well, youre doing better then you were, but not quite %26quot;good%26quot; yet. A score of 630 is about average and considered good. If youre working on it and its getting better, congratulations and keep up the good work!

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

Average is 678.

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

Not at all. A good score would be something over 700.

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

No, you would be classified as a %26quot;poor%26quot; risk. To raise your credit, make sure you are not carrying balances higher than 50% on your credit cards (if you have any), pay all of your bills on time, don%26#039;t deal with finance companies, and make sure your creditors report to all 3 bureaus. Also, don%26#039;t make too many credit inquiries, they subtract 12-17 pts at a time and stay on your report for up to a year.

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

I have a rating of 584 and it is listed as weak on experian

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

There is some good info here.

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

I%26#039;m a blunt person. That is a horrible score. 200? I have never ever seen anyone with a 200 credit score. Lowest I have seen was a 455. Collections/foreclosures ETC.

Is a 571 credit score good on your credit report?

You%26#039;re still low, but if your credit had been 200, you%26#039;ve made progress. (How%26#039;d it get as low as 200??!!)

The average is about 678, so you%26#039;ve got a ways to go. You should order copies of your credit report from a site such as freecreditreport.com or myfico.com and make sure that the information is correct. Dispute anything that is wrong, and get the bad information off. That%26#039;ll raise your score.

Here%26#039;s a good site for info: http://creditboards.com

What is included in a credit report?

Does it include bill payment records? or non-payment of a magazine subscription? Anyone know good strategies to convince a mortgage broker that we qualify, even with our less-than-perfect credit? We%26#039;ve %26#039;behaved%26#039; for a few years, but have a few dents in our past...? anything at all that you know would help :o) Thank you very much!

What is included in a credit report?

It includes all current and past revolving (credit cards) and installment debt (car loan, student loan). It includes lates, when accounts were opened, bankruptcies, deragatory accounts (Charged off).I have never seen a delinquency for a magazine subscription on there. I don%26#039;t think they would go on there. You can%26#039;t really convince a mortgage broker of anything because they are not the judges or make the decision with your credit report. They may be able to %26quot;clean it up%26quot; a little with such things as rapid reporting or can advise you how to improve it.

Your best bet would be to request it yourself from one of the 3 major credit bureaus. You will not get %26quot;dinged%26quot; for requesting it yourself and look it over and then if it%26#039;s not accurate then or has alot of issues then contact the credit bureaus and they should help you on how to improve it. Don%26#039;t go to a credit repair place.

What is included in a credit report?

No, it doesn%26#039;t include things like utility bills or magazine subscriptions, or rental history. If you had unpaid bills that went to collections it might.

Mostly a credit report contains facts about various credit accounts you%26#039;ve had, like payment history, credit limits, and your current balances. It may also have records of debts that have gone to collections.

These days, lenders want to know they%26#039;ll be paid back. A good record for a few years is important. Stuff further back can be overlooked and generally doesn%26#039;t hit you too badly, unless there are debts still showing unpaid.

They%26#039;ll want to see you%26#039;ve got some skin in the game, like a downpayment, and that you%26#039;ve got documented income necessary to make payments.

The days of liar loans and no money down are over.

What is included in a credit report?

Your credit report is broken into 4 distinct parts. Part 1 is identifying information (name, ssn, addresses past and present, aliases, etc.). Part 2 is your trade lines. Trade lines are any loans or services that report to the credit agencies. Student loans, mortgages, gym memberships, video rental stores all qualify for this. It%26#039;s up to the lender whether they report to the credit agencies or not, and even then maybe to just one, all or a combination. Your best bet is to get copies of your credit report from all three major credit bureaus. This can be done from one location. I hope that answers question one. Part 3 and 4 present information about foreclosures, defaulted loans and also indicate who has recently looked at your credit report (lenders mostly).

If you are looking for a loan, then everything hinges on your FICO score. Most likely you will qualify for a loan but maybe at a higher interest rate than if you had perfect credit. Your credit would have to be pretty bad not to qualify at all.

I would hit up MyFico for copies of your credit reports and all your scores (by the way your credit report and FICO score can and most likely will be different at each credit bureau). MyFico can provide you with a 3 bureau credit report and FICO Scores from all three bureaus as well. It%26#039;s always good to know what your up against.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck

What is included in a credit report?

Some credit cards don%26#039;t even report to the bureaus. You have to look at your report to see, and no, that won%26#039;t hurt your score.

Hope these links help!

What is included in a credit report?

YOUR CREDIT REPORT WILL HAVE EVERY CREDIT CARD LISTED AND IF YOU PAYED THE BILL ON TIME OR IF YOU WERE LATE, AND ANY OTHER THING YOU MADE PAYMENTS ON, IF YOU HAVE A BANKRUPSY OR REPOSESSION, AND WHAT THE MORGAGE BROKERS ARE LOOKING FOR IS A HIGH CREDIT SCORE OF 850 WHICH IS THE MAX TO ABOUT 600 BUT THATS PUSHING IT, A FRIEND OF MINE IS A MORGAGE BROKER AND THE FIRST TIME I BOUGHT A HOUSE I HAD A REPO AND A BANKRUPSY BUT THEY WERE ALMOST OF MY REPORT BUT I STILL NEEDED MORE CREDIT AND BETTER CREDIT AND HE HELPED WITH THAT TO BY TELLING ME HOW TO CORRECT SOME OF MY CREDIT PROBLEMS, LIKE CONTACTING THE ONES THAT SHOWED UP BAD AND TALKING THEM INTO WRITING YOU A LETTER ON YOUR BEHALF, OR HIRE A COMPANY THAT GOES TO THE CREDIT SCORING COMPANIES AND DESPUTES YOUR BAD CREDIT AND MOST OF THE TIME IT GETS DROPPED BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THE TIME TO PROVE THAT, ID LOOK INTO THAT.

What is included in a credit report?

YOu are not the only one,I have ever met the similiar problem before.I have good experience here though.http://creditreport.onlineidea.info/offi...

I purchased a credit report from equifax for $ 7.95 and have not rec'd it since 4-6-06 my fact

I purchased a credit report from equifax for $ 7.95 and have not rec%26#039;d it since 4-6-06 my fact # is 26646963

If this was done by computer, your credit report should have popped up as soon as your were done or even emailed to you. It won%26#039;t get mailed to you that way.

I purchased a credit report from equifax for $ 7.95 and have not rec%26#039;d it since 4-6-06 my fact # is 26646963

You don%26#039;t say what customer service told you?

Call them back and ask to speak to a supervisor. Have your # and your record from your bank that shows you paid for it.

Also, did you do this by computer? You usually get the results right away?

Negative account on credit report no response from collector?

I owe a learning center about $600, I wrote to them requesting a bill twice, but they never send me anything. And I dont just want to just send $600. Knowing them they might leave it on my report as unpaid. So can someone give me some advice on how to get this taken care of?

Negative account on credit report no response from collector?

If you know you owe them the money and have an account number and their address, send them the payment using a traceable method like a check sent via registered mail (they have to sign for it) with return receipt. Use their company name on the pay to line. Mark the check on the memo line with your account number and the statement %26quot;Paid in Full%26quot;.

Once they have cashed the check you%26#039;ll have proof that they have accepted payment in full and you%26#039;ll legally be in the right situation. They may still fail to take the information off your credit report, but you will have the proof that it has been paid and you can file a dispute with the three credit bureaus AND send them copies of your letter, canceled check, and return receipt and they will HAVE to make it satisfied on your credit report even if the company doesn%26#039;t take the time or effort to file the correction.

If you don%26#039;t have the proof of payment as I suggested and you file a dispute with the credit bureaus it%26#039;ll just get rejected. You need to prove you%26#039;ve either satisfied the debt OR that the debt wasn%26#039;t ever yours.

Good Luck!

Negative account on credit report no response from collector?

I hope you kept copies of the letters.

Write to all three credit bureaus, explaining that they would not prove the debt, and they will notify the collection agency/learning center that they have 30 days to provide proof, or else it will be removed from your credit bureau.

Are they reporting it to the bureaus?

The three bureaus are:

Equifax

Trans Union

Experian

Write to all three disputing the collection.

Negative account on credit report no response from collector?

If they are not responding to you, then they would likely not respond to a verification request from the three main credit bureaus. I recommend disputing the item with all 3 main credit bureaus. You stand a good chance at getting these removed.

Negative account on credit report no response from collector?

If you attended there then you owe the $600. If you were already making payments then continue making payments, cause if you don%26#039;t then interest will add on and make the bill higher. Perhaps they are trying to contact you (did you move), or maybe they transposed your address or something and mail continues to be returned to them. When was the last time you paid on that? Why not give that learning center a call. And, write that credit reporting agency and asked who it was that made the negative remark on your credit report (ask for name, address and phone).

Negative account on credit report no response from collector?

Dispute the debt online at all 3 credit breaus. They have to respone within 30 days. If they do not then the credit breau will remove the debt.

How do you report someone to the credit reporting agencies?

What steps do I need to take for my business to report people that aren%26#039;t paying their accounts?

How do you report someone to the credit reporting agencies?

You may not be able to begin reporting right away as some credit reporting bureaus require that you are a member for a sufficiant amount of time as they can not have just anyone paying a fee and begin reporting things.

However, you can use credit management services to do your reporting for you. One of them is the NACM. If you are interested email me and I will provide you with contact information. NACM provides many options for a small business. Credit reporting, credit reports, background checks, collection services, credit management services. There are free webinars, etc. Whatever you need.

Good Luck

How do you report someone to the credit reporting agencies?

contact the companies and ask them. i%26#039;m sure you can find Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax online; those are the three major ones. good luck.

How do you report someone to the credit reporting agencies?

Call the credit bureaus at the following;

1. Equinox 1-800-685-1111

2. Expiring 1-888-397-3742

3. Trans union 1-800-916-8800

They will be able to help you. There is a small fee to report to the credit bureaus. I hope you are going to report your good customers also.

How do you report someone to the credit reporting agencies?

You first need to inform the debtor that their debt is not paid. You have to give them 30 days to reply back via writing or call. Documentation is key. Secondly, if they disbute it you must send them proof. Thirdly, I think its 3 attempts you report to collection agency as well as credit bureau.

Medical bill and credit report?

My medical bill for appendix surgery was about $44,000. will it effect my credit reprot if I dont pay it?? I have no insurance, no madical..also, is there a way to pay monthly or I have to pay $44,000 at once?

thanks

Medical bill and credit report?

All these other guys seemed to say what I was gonna say. I%26#039;m gonna make this short. I%26#039;ve worked in a real estate company and we did credit checks for lease houses, and there was %26quot;unpaid medical%26quot; often on these reports.

Now, I%26#039;ve also worked in the medical field since I was a teenager. (Volunteering) And now as an adult (22...woo hoo), I can get paid for the work I do. In fact, I worked in the billing department for a while. If you call up to the hospital and speak with someone in the billing department about your financial situation, you can work something out... even if it%26#039;s $20 a month or $100 quarterly or $3 weekly. And you won%26#039;t get turned over to collections and it won%26#039;t go on your credit report.

If you are paying on an impossible amount, like you are, eventually the hospital will probably turn this bill over, and let you slide without paying your full impossible amount.

Medical bill and credit report?

Contact the hospital and ask them about assistance programs you can sign up for. You may be able to get some help paying for the bill. And yes, hospitals will set you up on payment plans, you just need to call them to work it out. Every business that you own money too has to go through a process before they can report you to a credit monitoring agency. They will send you many notices before threatening to do so. You will know when it%26#039;s going to happen. Just call the hospital and tell them you need to talk to someone about getting help with the bill.

Medical bill and credit report?

Yes, it will show up on your credit report if you do not pay it. The best thing to do is to cal the hospital and talk to the billing department to see if you can make a payment arrangement or have some type of program that can assist you in paying the bill or lowering it since you do not have any insurance. They usually agree to a set monthly payment and if they don%26#039;t what you can do is let it go to collections and then make arrangements with the collection agency to pay it off monthly.

This will still have a negative impact on your credit but it will show that you are paying and once it is paid it will disappear from your credit report after 7years.

Having a collection for a medical bill vs. a credit card or loan is not as damaging to your credit report. Most companies understand that medical expenses occur and most people do not have insurance and or the means to pay. It%26#039;s not like racking up a bill with your credit card and just not paying it this is different and while it looks bad like I said it is better than another type of debt.

Also, make sure you can check to see that if you do not pay it what will happen. In some states the hospitals will garnish your wages and in other cases if it is left unpaid it will fall off your credit report in ten years. But I should point out most hospitals are quick to send you to collections and to garnish your wages. Good Luck!

Why has my credit report taken a big leap into hell yet I haven't done anything to change anyth

I go from %26quot;superman%26quot; credit to %26quot;dogface%26quot; city yet all my bills are paid and everything! I don%26#039;t really expect anyone to explain my finances but, has this happened to you at any time?

Why has my credit report taken a big leap into hell yet I haven%26#039;t done anything to change anything?

Your credit REPORT would only change if you actually changed things-- inquiries, high balances on your cards, missed payments, etc. Double check that there are no fraudulent activities.

However, your score does sometimes jump around. I%26#039;ve seen mine drop 50 points over night and I compared the two reports, and tehy were identical. However, its not like i went from stellar to dogface...it was a fair report to begin with and stayed in that range.

Pull all 3 reports and check it for accuracy. Keep in mind tha utiization makes up 35% of yoru score, so just using up more of your creidt limit dings the score pretty bad. History is 10%, so closing your older accounts also really hurts-- as well as opening up new ones that would drag down your average acount length.

Why has my credit report taken a big leap into hell yet I haven%26#039;t done anything to change anything?

Maybe someone stole your identity. Get a copy of your credit report and be sure that there aren%26#039;t any charges on it that you didn%26#039;t make.

Why has my credit report taken a big leap into hell yet I haven%26#039;t done anything to change anything?

oh you need to check it out thoroughly. you might have someone using your identity. You can get a copy of your credit report for free once a year. Or apply for something you dont think they will give you and get a free one when they turn you down. But do it soon the sooner you catch an idetity theft the better.

Missing info on credit report?

I realized that Equifax has 4 accounts open for me (correct) and TransUnion and Experian only two. Is there something I can do, can I report it to them or only lenders are allowed?

Missing info on credit report?

Each company has it%26#039;s own criteria for reporting. They can report to any and all of the credit bureaus, or none at all. Best thing to do is when opening new credit ask if they report to all three (3) credit bureaus, so that your information is accurate.

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

I am an authorized user on 3 major credit cards. I have one individual department store account and one individual student loan account. Should I remove myself as authorized user from 2 of the most recent accounts and get a major credit card individual account? Would that help/hurt my credit?

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

2 of the posters gave their opinion, which is their opinion, but it didn%26#039;t answer your question. I%26#039;m going to give you the answer to your question, but first I%26#039;m going to tell you what makes up your score.

1. Payment history-35%

2. Total debt owed to available credit ratio-30%

3. Length of time establishing credit (average age of accounts)-15%

4. Types of credit established-10%

5. Inquiries and new accounts-10%

Ok, this is what you need to understand. Beginning back 2 months ago in September, one of the major credit bureaus no longer recognizes authorized users as a part of your credit score. Sometime next year, the other 2 agencies will follow suit, so it will reflect that you do not have any revolving accounts (credit cards) It will be up to you whether you want to remove yourself or not depending on how much you use the card, however in order to build credit for yourself, you would have to open one major account. The student loan is considered an installment loan, which satisfies that portion of it. A good example of a balanced mixture of credit would be 3 revolving (credit cards) and 1-2 installment loans.

A suggestion that I have about using credit cards is that they should be used lightly, what I mean by that is use only what can be paid off. A good way to use it would be to treat the card as if it had a $50 and only use $20 every month. Make sure that you pay it off on time and do it again the next month, and so on. This way, you%26#039;re building credit, but not going into debt at the same time.

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

Dont obsess with your credit ( I Love Debt ) score. Pay as you go and you will win with money.

Credit card companies (Banks) make all the rules and can change the rules anytime they want.

Banks spend millions brainwashing people into thinking they need credit cards and a high I Love Debt score to make it in todays world. Thats just total crap.

Debt Free is Definitely the way to be!

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

Credit scores are weird calculations. They do take into account the amount of credit that you have available whether you use it or not. The fewer credit cards that you own, the better your credit score will be. Also if you don%26#039;t plan to use a credit card that you own, ask the company to close the account. Having the availability to use the credit card will affect your credit score as well.

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

None is best. Worrying about your fico score means you%26#039;re willing to go into debt. Going into debt means your paying interest and fees on a credit card. For what? Wouldn%26#039;t it be better to invest the principle, interest, and fees into yourself rather than paying the bank.

We as a society think we need credit. We don%26#039;t. You can live just fine with a zero fico score.

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

I personally think a lot of posters are giving you bad information. My suggestion is to apply for a credit card in your own name since the previous posted stated the authorised user is no longer going to be a factor in calculating your credit score.

It is always better to have good credit, and you do not have to be in debt to have good credit.

How many individual credit accounts should you have on your credit report?

Smoovy is the only one who is correct.

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

Under the same account I have a negative report from HHGREG and one for an collection agency(account went to collections). Should they at least delete one since it seems like they are double stabbing me?

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

Yes! I%26#039;ve done it twice in the last month. Just dispute them as duplicates or the same account. I%26#039;ve been able to get two accounts deleted. However, I didn%26#039;t get the affect I wanted which was a score increase. My score dropped the first time the 2nd delete increased my score. Good Luck! I%26#039;ve also gotten a few collections deleted. Don%26#039;t pay for anything you can do yourself! My score has increased atleast 60 points in since October!

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

Call the credit companies individually and find out if one of these can be deleted?

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

You can generally dispute (it is free and you can do it online now as well I think) any entries on your credit report. Once you file a dispute (lets say Transunion) they will inturn contact both parties and ask them to verify the info they are reporting. If they are not able to or are found to be in error they will have them removed/corrected. Make sure you file with ALL (3) Three credit agencies. They do not always communicate to each other and you could resolve the issue with one agency but have still it remain on your credit report with the other two agencies. Messed up I know, but such is life!

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

no, they do not have to delete anything, if you have a negative account report this is a mandatory to be put onto your credit report when the account is in bad standing, then if the account is brought into collections, this is another negative report because you have made the creditor go beyond reporting to the credit beaureas to collect their funds.

I am president of a credit repair company- Millenium Financial Services, i can help get these things removed.

Please visit my website @: millenium financial services . com

please note the way millenium is spelled while typing the address. i will be glad to help u .....

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

you should be able to. I once had a credit card showing twice on my credit report so i called the specific credit agency and told them and it was taken off and my score immedialtly went up the next month.

2 negatives on credit report for same account?

If HHGREG is the original creditor, they can report it. When it%26#039;s charged off, they can sell it, and the collection agency can now report it as a collections account. Neither can stay for more than seven years from last delinquency.

You can always try to dispute, and might be successful. If it gets removed because it couldn%26#039;t be verified, it can pop back up once it is verified.

Removing Bankrupcy from Credit Report?

I had filed chapter 13 following a divorce. My home was in forcluser. Two years after filing, I was working with a mortage broker. I wanted to the the home financing soley in my name.

In order to negiate and clean up my credit, I voluntarily had it dismissed. Before the financing was complete, a gun accident took the brokers life forcing me to jump back into bankrupcy.

My question is , is there any way to get the second bankrupcy %26quot;removed%26quot; due to extenuating circumstances?

Removing Bankrupcy from Credit Report?

Bankruptcy%26#039;s are public records and can not be removed by anything except time.

Removing Bankrupcy from Credit Report?

its a sad situation that you are in but unfortunately you have to sit out those 10 yrs on that bankruptcy

you and no one else can delete or remove that from your credit file.....

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

I have had a capital one card for years now, it only has a $500 limit w/ a high intrest rate and I have NEVER been late on it. After significantly improving my credit (years of work) I applied for the next step up capital one card that has a 12% intrest rate and I was denied! 1 week later Citi bank sent me an offer of 12% with 0% on balance transfers for 1 year and I was approved in seconds for a MUCH higher limit than my capital one card. I am so offended by capital one, I transfered my $500 card and plan on canceling it. Why did this happen?

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Because they wanted to keep you at the higher interest rate to make money off of you!

Capital One is good for that, I know from experience.

If you don%26#039;t pay an annual fee, transfer the balance to Citi and leave the Cap card open with a $0 balance. They will increase your limit and lower your interest rate.

Regarding the Citi card, if you transfer the balance, there will be a one time 3% transfer fee. If you make any purchases on the card, they will be paid after the balance transfers are paid off. The interest on the purchases will accrue.

I swear by balance transfers. I haven%26#039;t paid interest in years.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Because Cap 1 is a scumbag company.... of all the credit card companies, Cap 1 and Providian are the worse... they are horrible companies that could care less about their customers.

In my experience, AMEX, and Citibank are two of the most customer-friendly CC companies.

Dump Cap 1. You dont need them.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

cancell the capital one asap. They don%26#039;t deserve to have a good paying user like you.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Don%26#039;t cancel the Capitol One card. With it goes all your history. Keep it open. Just don%26#039;t use it.

Capitol One turned you down because they already had you paying the higher interest rate. The best way to get them to increase your limit and lower the interest is to pay the card off in full every month. Then about every 6 months or so they will increase your limit. They will also drop your interest rate after a year or so.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

It is good that you have never been late, but have you been over limit?

All credit card companies base their decision off the information they have about you, either from their relationships, the credit report, or both.

If you are near the maximum of your credit line, and aren%26#039;t making significant payments on the $500 credit line to bring it down to zero, they may have decided that it wouldn%26#039;t be a good idea to give you a $5000 dollar credit limit.

I wouldn%26#039;t take it as a personal attack. They try to make difficult decisions on whom is a good credit risk, and whom isn%26#039;t. Think about all the mortgages that were made out to people these last couple of years, a little bit of conservatism isn%26#039;t bad. It wasn%26#039;t that these people were bad, they just let the desire to own a home fog their vision of what they could do at the current time. A couple of people saying %26quot;No%26quot; may have been a good thing.

Calling Capital One to cancel is a good idea. Tell them why you want to cancel, and see if they will make you a better offer. If they can%26#039;t/won%26#039;t don%26#039;t worry about it, this is a small issue to worry about.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Simple, It could be that Capital one uses one credit reporting company and city uses another. For example if your credit score in Equifax is 650 or more and in Transunion your score is below 600. Citi uses Equifax therefore they are going to give you a better rate and approve you on the other hand capital one uses Transunion and your credit looks poor for them. What i recommend you to do is go a see your credit score in the 3 different credit reporting agencies. transunion/ equifax and Ceridian. you are going to see that are different. once you identify which of the credit report agencies has your high score try to apply to companies that used that agency only. When you make an application for credit always ask what credit agency they use to evaluate your application. I hope this helps

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Amex is one of the worse cards you can get. Advoid at all costs.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

a 500 dollar limit with high interest indicates a poor credit history or no credit history

1. you do not state you current income and what else is on your credit score ( negative wise or other loans/ balances )

2. a transfer indicates you carry debt, even if 500 dollars that tells me you make only minimum payments and thus are not qualified for lower interest rate much less and increase in your credit line

3. just becuase citibank gave you a higher limit does not mean your worthy of it, citibank is the number 1 issuer of CC and the number 1 in defaults amoung it%26#039;s users, they are very aggressive in signing people up with bigger than expected credit lines

4. the Amex card is for true power users as as you know you MUST pay off the full balance at end of month since it%26#039;s NOT revolving credit, hence why most do not qualify for the card

5. you should always pay the FULL balance at the end of the month, if you can%26#039;t then you cannot handle credit

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Sometimes the credit card companies do some thing which has no reason behind. So as you are not approved try toi get some other card which is better than this.you can get some good credit cards with low apr and some reward programs and then buy the necessary things with this card and pay the bills on time. You can also try some reward cards they are good. All these will make your credit good.Discover has some cards with 0% intro apr rates and also some reward programs.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Find very useful info and tips on getting and managing credit cards on http://creditcardmanager.credithelperhom...

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

Welcome to %26quot;Credit Cards 101%26quot;.

Lesson learned: If a credit card company will not deal with you, call around. There are dozens of others that want your business.

DO NOT cancel the card out. Just quit using it. If you cancel, you will end up hurting your credit score for a while.

I would call them up every 6 months and ask them to lower the interest rate and raise your credit limit. Tell them you have other companies asking for your business and wanted to know if Capital One is still interested in keeping you.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

What you will find is that EVERY card company has done something to upset a card holder at one time or another.

Capital One is one of the largest issuers of cards to people with less than optimal credit scores but they also have some better cards as well.

Speaking just for myself, I still have the Capital One card with the $500 limit and the 18.99% interest rate that was the first card I got after a BK years %26amp; years ago. BUT I also have 2 other cards with Cap One with generous credit limits, low interest rates (4.99 and 9.99 fixed) AND regularly get balance transfer offers with no balance transfer fees and low fixed APR for the life of the balance transfer.

So while I know some people have an extreme dislike for Crap One (as they like to call Capitol One) I have no complaints as they have been very good to me over the years.

Why the heck?! (Credit Report question)?

The more you read on credit, or fixing your credit the more you will see that one of, or I should say the worst credit card to get is Capital One. For one they report your limit as to what your highest use was. Example say you have a $500 limit but use $100, they report your limit as $100 so it appears that you are maxed out. If you do not have a yearly charge pay it off and keep it, if you do have a yearly charge cancel it 30 days before that charge is due, in that way you build up a good credit rating with the new company and the loss of $500 credit will not be much.
