2 negatives on credit report for same account?

Under the same account I have a negative report from HHGREG and one for an collection agency(account went to collections). Should they at least delete one since it seems like they are double stabbing me?

Yes! I%26#039;ve done it twice in the last month. Just dispute them as duplicates or the same account. I%26#039;ve been able to get two accounts deleted. However, I didn%26#039;t get the affect I wanted which was a score increase. My score dropped the first time the 2nd delete increased my score. Good Luck! I%26#039;ve also gotten a few collections deleted. Don%26#039;t pay for anything you can do yourself! My score has increased atleast 60 points in since October!

You can generally dispute (it is free and you can do it online now as well I think) any entries on your credit report. Once you file a dispute (lets say Transunion) they will inturn contact both parties and ask them to verify the info they are reporting. If they are not able to or are found to be in error they will have them removed/corrected. Make sure you file with ALL (3) Three credit agencies. They do not always communicate to each other and you could resolve the issue with one agency but have still it remain on your credit report with the other two agencies. Messed up I know, but such is life!

no, they do not have to delete anything, if you have a negative account report this is a mandatory to be put onto your credit report when the account is in bad standing, then if the account is brought into collections, this is another negative report because you have made the creditor go beyond reporting to the credit beaureas to collect their funds.

you should be able to. I once had a credit card showing twice on my credit report so i called the specific credit agency and told them and it was taken off and my score immedialtly went up the next month.

If HHGREG is the original creditor, they can report it. When it%26#039;s charged off, they can sell it, and the collection agency can now report it as a collections account. Neither can stay for more than seven years from last delinquency.

You can always try to dispute, and might be successful. If it gets removed because it couldn%26#039;t be verified, it can pop back up once it is verified.
