Can anyone alter my credit report w/o having my social security #?

I am having a pblm with a company. I bought a product of theirs with a visa gift card. I didn%26#039;t like it and returned it (As I could with their policy). I got a final past due notice in the mail, that said if I didn%26#039;t pay them money, they were going to give me bad credit. All they have is my maiden name, and my present address. Is it possible for them to do that?

it%26#039;s possible. they could just do it through other information you have with them.. like your mother%26#039;s maiden name, your real full name, address, etc..

not really ...they need ss# to try to insert anything in the reports ... there are some companies that do skip tracing and try to get to your ss# by sharing with other companies ...if you have problems in the future with this company and it shows in your report e mail me ccs2000@sbcglobal.net ill help you...

Nice story, if you%26#039;re in 9th grade. You still get a %26quot;D%26quot; for poor imagination.

It is possible, but they probably won%26#039;t, because they don%26#039;t have enough information and can get in trouble. Even if they did, you can easily contest it by writing to the credit reporting agency (Equifax, Transunion, etc..)

You can get a letter template at

Just fill in the blanks. The letters are free. There%26#039;s one specifically for removing derogatory credit information.
