Why are companies asking to review your credit report now, in order to hire you?

I was hired on as %26quot;seasonal%26quot; and they did a credit check, then was terminated because my credit check didn%26#039;t pass. (I have horrible credit, which I would like to start working on, but need income to do so). Now I just finished filling out another application for %26quot;seasonal%26quot; and they are asking to do the same. What reasons would they hire or not hire, due to credit checks?

I do not necessarily believe a credit check should be the determining factor if you are hired or not. It may be completely independent upon how great of a worker you may be. However, in the same breath it can show that you have a weakness in responsibility. Perhaps, if you can be reliable and trustworthy. I agree with you, you need an income to improve your score. So it%26#039;s kind of a double whammy. I don%26#039;t know much about it, but perhaps you could explain your situation to the HR personnel and that you would like to get back on your feet and improve your score and the only way you can do that is by finding employment. Just be persistent and I am sure you will be able to find some work. Good luck.
