It depends on what you are left with on your credit report. If you don%26#039;t have other accounts, you score will not change much, but if you have others, then if could jump quite a bit. Anyone who says they can tell without actually seeing the report and %26quot;factor codes%26quot; is just guessing.

Good credit is more than the absence on bad credit. When you pay the collections they are then reported as %26quot;paid collections%26quot; but there is still the record of the bad debt. Unless you have several other accounts with good payment histories, then you will still have issues.

You could dispute the accounts AFTER they are paid off, but that may not get them removed from your report. Take a look at the 4 %26quot;factor codes%26quot; after your score on your credit report. They should give you a feel for other things you can do to improve your score, or just ask a mortgage broker, we are always happy to help out...

DId you have any charge offs? They remain on your report for 7 1/2 years.

If you start paying all your bills on time - all the time - use only a fraction of your available credit - say 50% - and don%26#039;t apply for new credit for a while, you score will start to rise.

Credit scores are weighted toward more recent events. I would think in a year or so you should be at 650 or more, if you behave yourself.
