I have 2 defaults on my credit report which have been paid, is there anyway they can be removed?

Both of these were for mobile phones which I did not sign a contract for, they were both for under 鎷?00 but I am struggling to get credit because of these, can anyone help me, thanks.

I am a debt collector and I work for a private finance company. I am 100% certain on the information I am giving.

If you received a default on a credit account, for a valid reason, then it will only be removed from your credit file after 6 years, whether or not it was paid off.

So, if you have paid it off, it still won%26#039;t be removed from your credit file until exactly 6 years after the date it was defaulted (not the date you paid it off). If you got defaulted in May 2002, and repaid the loan in May 2005, the default wilil be removed in May 2008, as that is 6 years after the date it was defaulted. It would not take until May 2011 to clear off, as that would be calculating it from the date you paid it off.

I am 100% certain about this information and you can visit http://www.callcredit.co.uk/consumer/you...

for more information. Defaults are treated the same as CCJ%26#039;s in respect of how long they are on your credit file. In fact, even a loan which never defaulted and you paid off, still takes 6 years to come off your credit file!

You need to get in contact with the credit reference agency and ask them how you get these removed.

You need the debts to be changed to satisfied and cleared they will always remain as part of the record but they will no longer be shown as outstanding.

If you have substantiated evidence that these contracts were not taken out by you they will require it and you may also need to evidence that you were not complicit or negligent in letting others have personal date that allowed this to happen.

Once you have this removed from one you should get that information duplicated on all reference agencies. Once it has been done get a credit reference report and keep it safe.

Good luck this is never easy!!!

Try sending a demand to validate letter to the collection agency that had the account and filing a dispute with the credit bureaus.

Usually if it%26#039;s paid they will not bother going through the process and it will get removed.

it is a credit history file.......

these defaults are a fact of history........

inaccuracies you can change, facts you cannot. you can get a note put on saying you paid, you can get your own comments about %26quot;i never signed nothing%26quot; put on, but you cannot get them to remove a valid fact.
