I need a Credit Expert answer! Can someone pulling your credit report tell if you have ever had a bankruptsy.
It is usually on your credit for seven years...however....sometimes it is not...I use to work in that field...read on...

It can appear in the public records section of your report for seven years, they can also see it if there were trade-lines (accounts) paid via the bankruptcy - it will say it as a note below the account. If it was 12 years ago that may be the only way it shows up. Pull you own credit (all three bureau%26#039;s!) and carefully review the report. If you don%26#039;t see anything then most likely the creditors wont either.

Bankruptcies stay on your credit for 10 years in public records. There should be no trace of the bankruptcy left after 12 years.

Most bankruptcies will dissappear of your credit report in a matter of 7 years. After that there is no was of telling on a recently pulled credit report by a lender. However, the preceedings of which you filed the original bankruptcy will remain on a legal docket with the state in which you filed and is considered to be public information. Hope that helps.
