If I close them how will it affect my credit score? Should I close them?
There%26#039;s several credit accounts open on my credit report that I didn%26#039;t realize were still open.?
This could be a problem. If the accounts are a few years old (called %26quot;seasoned accounts%26quot;) and you close them, this could make your FICO drop significantly, as a good portion of your score is based on account longevity. If these accounts are not charging you annual fees, and is not costing you anything to keep open, I would, especially if they are in good standing.

closing them could hurt your score. If you still have the credit cards available - lock them away and don%26#039;t use them. If you don%26#039;t have the cards, don%26#039;t worry about it

If they are paid off, and you don%26#039;t use them, contact them and cancel the account(s). Yes, having too many credit accounts can hurt your credit score.

Do not close them it could damage your credit rating because your available credit to credit used will change. If the have no annual fee it doesn%26#039;t hurt to keep them open and not use them.
